There are still summer days ahead for us to enjoy, even though it doesn't quite feel like it here in the Bay Area with the cool breezy weather we've all come to expect in July. Either way, we're excited to be able to be out and about with friends and family, and we're dishing on our favorite bites from July.

HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE KOUIGN-AMANN?
STARTER BAKERY
A classic pastry that we adore is one that we always have a hard time remembering how to pronounce. The Kouign-Amann is a delicious French pastry with origins from Brittany, France. It’s pronounced KWEEN-A-MAHN. Now try saying that three times fast. We kid, but now you’ll be ready to order one, and we suggest trying the ones from Starter Bakery in Berkeley, CA. It’s got layers on layers of buttery goodness coated with a sugary outside. Seasonal flavors like Peach and Cream cheese are available, but we find the traditional and chocolate ones are the ones we keep coming back for every time.

Being from California, nothing feels more like home than a burger from In-N-Out. They’re serving nostalgic vibes with the same classic menu. They’ve kept things simple and have not made too many changes to the menu over the years. From curing late-night cravings or lunchtime hanger, it’s a tried-and-true staple that we can always rely on. It always comes through in the clutch.

TRUFFLE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH

Restoration Hardware knows a thing or two about aesthetics. Dining at their rooftop restaurant in Corte Madera is a lovely experience. They’ve got the Indoor-outdoor vibes down. Guests are seated in an atrium of olive trees adorned by gorgeous chandeliers with tranquil fountains sprinkled throughout the space. It’s a lovely setting to enjoy. On this brunch outing, after a quick scan of the menu, we were immediately drawn to the truffle grilled cheese that comes on sourdough bread. We took this to the next level and added the thick-cut pork belly bacon with a maple glaze sprinkled with black pepper. It was a savory brunch treat.
After you’ve finished your dining experience, grab a glass of wine from the wine bar in the front at the top of the staircase and head outside to the wrap-around terrace to soak in some sun and stunning views of Marin. Click here for a peek into the RH Rooftop from our visit.

WEEKEND BRUNCH SPREAD
BRENDA'S OAKLAND
Brunch is the most important meal of the weekend, and one of our favorite brunch spots is Brenda's. Brenda's is Chef Brenda Buenviaje's take on French Soul Food set in a casual chill setting with locations in San Francisco and Oakland. The menu is full of delicious options, and here's what we got on this trip: Brenda's Fried Chicken, the Chicken & Andouille Gumbo, and the Cinnamon-Battered Brioche French Toast. To take our french toast to the next level, we like to add the butter pecan sauce.
