Warmer days ahead and we’re here for all of the summer vibes. We’re getting outside and even managed to meet up with friends and family over food and drinks. It’s exciting to see restaurants and bars fully open around the Bay Area. We’re dishing on our best eats from June.
THE WAFFLES AND KFC FROM BERKELEY SOCIAL CLUB
When the weekend hits, we head to Berkeley Social Club for brunch. They're serving up brunch dishes with contemporary Korean American influences. The main dining room is pretty spacious and they've also got a cute outdoor patio space in the back for those wanting to enjoy the outside while they're brunching.
On this visit, we got the Waffles and KFC. The waffle was soft and went really nice with the KFC (aka Korean Fried Chicken). The chicken was fried nicely and being boneless made it easier to enjoy this sweet & savory dish.

ICE CREAM FROM HUMPHRY SLOCOMBE
Known for their creatively bold flavors and playful vibes, Humphry Slocombe is serving up sweet grown-up treats in every scoop. Ice cream never fails to bring a smile to our face and has a way of picking us up when we need it the most.
We decided to kick off summer with a few of our fun flavors: Hong Kong Milk Tea, Strawberry Blondie, and Cornflake Crunch. The Cornflake Crunch is made with cereal milk ice cream with house-made cornflake cookies - does this count as ice cream for breakfast? The Hong Kong Milk Tea flavor is a sweet collaboration between Humphry Slocombe and Melissa King, Top Chef All-Stars Season 17 winner. It's a unique blend of Numi organic tea, condensed milk, and almond cookies. The Strawberry Blondie is comprised of strawberry ice cream with white chocolate blondies.
CHICKEN CHIMICHURRI DINNER WITH ROASTED POTATOES & VEGGIES FROM OLIVE SAN FRANCISCO

We ordered the chicken chimichurri for dinner with roasted potatoes and veggie sides that came with easy reheating instructions. Everything tasted fresh and was seasoned with nice balanced flavors.

REMEMBERING ANTHONY BOURDAIN ON BOURDAIN DAY WITH BITES & MAI TAI'S FROM TRADER VICS
In celebration of Bourdain Day, we were inspired to go to Trader Vics, one of his stops during his visit to the Bay Area on an episode of his show Parts Unknown. From the amazing bay views to the delicious variety of Mai Tai's, it's a great spot for happy hour, located right on the water with views of the San Francisco skyline. Step inside Trader Vics and the tiki décor transports you to another place and you forget that you're in the Bay Area. On his visit, Tony had the BBQ spare ribs, egg rolls, and Mai Tai, and we got the same. We leveled up our Mai Tai with a floater of dark 151 rum.
On Bourdain Day, we raised our Mai Tai to say cheers to Tony and remember the man that inspired us all to get out there and discover the world.

THE SALTY SOMBITCH COOKIES FROM FLOUR & BRANCH
Some of our most memorable childhood food memories come from biting into a freshly baked cookie. Flour & Branch brings these food memories forward by creating delicious quality-crafted baked treats with fresh ingredients to help evoke all of those childhood feels. Coupled with sleek packaging and well-designed branding, it's like opening up a sweet present for yourself. We were drawn to the Salty Sombitch, a soft-baked cookie made with Guittard butterscotch chips topped with chocolate-coated toffee and a dash of Maldon sea salt. Partly for the name bust mostly for the butterscotch and toffee.

THE FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH FROM BAKESALE BETTY
We avoid waiting in lines at all costs but we'll happily wait in line for the fried chicken sandwich from Bakesale Betty. Based in Oakland in Temescal, the line looks long as it stretches down the block but it moves pretty quickly. With a nice crisp and tender chicken, the fried chicken rests upon a bed of spicy jalapeno coleslaw, it really brings the sandwich together.
