COCKTAILS WITH A VIEW AT THE STUDY HALL ROOFTOP LOUNGE BAR IN BERKELEY

On a warm fall evening, we wanted to kick back with a few cocktails & enjoy being outside. And that’s how we ended up at the Study Hall Lounge in Downtown Berkeley.

Located on the 12th floor of the Residence Inn Hotel is where you’ll find the Study Hall Lounge. The name gives nod to the close proximity to nearby neighbor UC Berkeley. Turn towards the Berkeley Hills and you’ve got the perfect view of the campus soccer and track & field at Edwards Stadium. And in the other direction, you’ll find a pretty epic view of the Bay Bridge and San Francisco Skyline.

The cocktail menu is pretty straight forward and has a nice variety of flavors and spirits. The cocktail names are fun and give you a good guide to the vibe of each drink.

Here’s what we tried:

We tried the K.THNX.BYE cocktail, first for its cheeky name and second because the mix of ingredients sounded like a refreshing rooftop beverage. Made with Hansen’s Vodka, this cocktail is mixed with fresh lime and housemade grenadine, and then topped off with a fresh lime wheel.

Next up was the Tilden Park cocktail, aptly named for the regional park nestled up in the Berkeley Hills. Made with Redwood Empire Rye, Fernet leopold amaro, miletti amaro, mole bitters, rosemary sprig, we found the Tilden Park name to be quite fitting of this cocktail. It was a lovely cocktail to kick back and sip the night away with.

View towards the Berkeley Hills and UC Berkeley Campus.

They’ve also got live music from Tuesday through Saturday. And on this random Wednesday, we got to check out this local band @analogdogband.

The Study Hall is a fun spot if you’re looking for a cool vibe on a rooftop. It’s got views, fire pit, cocktails, live music and bites if you’re hungry. There aren’t too many outdoor spots so if you’re rolling through with your squad, try to grab a reservation before you head up.
