A DOUGHNUTS AND BEER PAIRING FROM JOHNNY DOUGHNUTS + HENHOUSE BREWING

They’ve teamed up for a deliciously crave-worthy pairing to celebrate national donut day with a limited-edition beer & doughnut tasting flight featuring three new coffee & pastry-inspired beers.
THE TASTING FLIGHT 🍻🍩
First up is the lime poppy seed glazed doughnut paired with “Fresh Pots,” a coffee Saison brewed with Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee roasted by Land and Water Coffee. At 7.4% ABV, this coffee beer is tasty, with a nice balance of flavors between the coffee and beer. The sweet & subtle tartness of the lime poppy seed doughnut paired well with this coffee Saison beer.
The Maple Old Fashioned doughnut is next paired with “No Chocolate Frosted Mini Donuts Were Harmed in the Making of this Barrel-Aged Pastry Stout”. This 15.7% ABV barrel-aged pastry stout is made with cacao nibs & vanilla and placed into bourbon barrels that held maple syrup. It’s a dangerously easy to drink beer with tastes of chocolate-vanilla sweetness, a lovely compliment to the maple flavors from the doughnut.
Last but not least, the Chocolate Cake doughnut is paired with “The Delicious Little Devil.” This is a 15.2% ABV barrel-aged pastry stout that has been aged for 12 months on bourbon oak barrels with maple syrup & Honduran coffee from Land and Water.
Our favorite pairing of the flight was the Coffee Saison + lime poppy seed doughnut. We loved the “Fresh Pots” brew & got a few 4-packs to go.
